This activity is best used in small student groups, as some of the questions can be challenging. The intention of this quiz is simply as a fun and  interactive team-based activity.


Student Lateral Thinking Quiz

This is a lateral thinking quiz. Below are a series of questions that require you to think differently and/or problem solve. They all have logical answers in the end. Good luck!

  1. Divide 30 by 1/2 and then add 10
  2. Which country has a 4th of July: Britain, France or the USA?
  3. If a snail climbs up a wall three feet each day, but slips back two feet at night, how many days will it take for him to climb a ten-foot wall?
  4. Of the numbers 1 to 100, how many are divisible by 2?
  5. Some months have 31 days, some have 30 days, but how many have 28?
  6. You’re in a race, you pass the person coming second, where are you now coming?
